Lunchables...

My lunch was stolen last week from the staff fridge. My juniors found this hilarious. If anyone mentions the word lunchable, they start laughing uncontrollably. When they asked me what kind of lunchable it was, because they thought someone might have mistaken it for theirs, I told them that not many teachers buy lunchables with juice boxes in them. Again, the laughing.

The juniors came today with two packages. One was beautifully wrapped with curled ribbons that were color coordinated; it was from a junior boy. I opened it, and it was a lunchable with a juice box. The other junior came with a homemade card. Inside of it was three dollars, "in case anyone steals your lunch."

They laughed hysterically again. I had a nice Christmas cracker snacker on my junior class.

I guess I like high school now.

Absolutely nothing interesting achieved by Adam and Vera...

Adam and I had a Christmas shopping extravaganza yesterday. We shopped all stinking day. We are completely finished shopping, well except for Jack. We called Jane and Ray in the middle of the day, and they were having a shopping extravaganza, too.

I know that is not very exciting, but that's what we did. Lois and I slept this afternoon.

Yep, that is about all.

House Browser

Someone looked at our house yesterday. We haven't heard anything back yet, but we took all of Papa's Nazi booty, that was the only word I could think of that wouldn't get this blog put on a hate group list- memento sounded a little too reminiscient, off of the walls. I'm sure we scared quite a few lookers away.

Adam was wonderful- again. I fell asleep at 7pm, unusual for a Sunday, and he did all of my laundry. He makes this drive to Flint tolerable. Thank you, again, Adam.

My mom sent me the weblink to Papa's obituary. She said it was a very nice one.

Snow Day

My students told me that there was supposed to be nine inches of snow tonight. I asked them if they were watching the weather for Michigan or Alaska. They told me that since I'm from Ohio, I have no idea what Michigan weather can be like.

I plan on rubbing that in tomorrow when we have school, and I think we will. There is only supposed to be an inch or two.

Perhaps I should teach critical listening skills using the weather forecast.

Because I read Real Simple too often...

So my favorite magazine, thanks to Jane, suggested that a blog is an easy way for your family to keep in touch about the silly stuff that makes family family. For example, posting goofy pictures of our holiday lights or those cell phone snapshots that are so hilarious. I thought, knowing that every last one of you has a computer and wastes time on the Internet as much as anyone else, that we could make this a place to stop, leave a message, and see what everyone has to say. Adam will not be reviewing these for grammar, so don't worry about that. I can promise you that I don't even like to use capital letters all of the time. I just miss everyone now that we are spread so far apart, and wanted to bring us together in this little corner of the Internet.
